It has been a long while since we’ve heard from Nokia. Now, the once king of handheld phones is back with a new weapon, the Nokia 6.

The Nokia 6 is the first Android phone to be released by HMD Global, most of the past offerings were under the Windows platform. It’s really good to see that they’ve switched to a more viable OS. For us, the Windows OS is not really the best choice when it comes to handheld devices. We think that it would be more suitable on a larger device (Tablets, Phablets, Convertibles).

As mentioned, the new Nokia phone will be part of the Android family. The Nokia 6 will utilize the latest Android 7.0 Nougat and will be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor (Octa-core). As stated on their website, they’ve opted for this processor to be able to make the phone’s battery last longer, and for its improved graphics processing prowess. The processing powers that the Nokia 6 holds will be accompanied with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Based on the website, the Nokia 6 will sport an aluminum alloy piece which is fitted with a 5.5 full HD display and will be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. This combination will definitely bring back the good old toughness that we loved about the Nokia phones.

The Nokia 6 will be armed with a 16-megapixel rear camera that has f/2.0 aperture, and will be teamed up with a two-tone flash. Its front-facing camera will be sporting an 8-megapixel lens.

According to HMD Global’s PR, the Nokia 6 will be available exclusively in China through JD.com and will carry the price tag of 1699CNY(roughly around twelve thousand pesos). There’s no News about its local availability or if it would ever reach our shores. We can only keep our fingers crossed and hope for it’s arrival in our market. But rest assured, we will surely let you know of its availability once it hits our country.
