Steam is having its Winter Sale which starts on December 22, 2016 to January 2, 2017. That’s about 12 days of up to 85% discount on selected games. However, what if we don’t have a Credit Card, Visa, or Master Card? How on earth will we be able to get the games that we’ve been eyeing for? Enter PayMaya!

PayMaya is a virtual card which you can use to pay for the things you want to buy online (as long as the online shop accepts Visa or Mastercard). Paymaya’s process is pretty straightforward, you just need to download it from the App Store or Google Play. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you will then need to register for the virtual card. The registration process will only take five to ten minutes depending on how fast you can type. Once you’ve successfully registered, the mobile number that you’ve linked with the account will receive a confirmation message stating that your Virtual Card has been activated.

Now, open the Paymaya App on your mobile device and you will notice that the balance of the card is zero. Time to load up your Paymaya Virtual Card to start purchasing items online. There are several ways to load up your Paymaya Virtual Card.

You can load up via 7-Eleven Cliqq Kiosks, Ministop Touchpay Kiosks, Robinson’s Business Centers, SM Department Stores Business Centers, BDO Phone/Online Banking, Smart Money and Smart Padala. To know more about loading your PayMaya Virtual Card, just visit https://paymaya.com/loadup-centers/.

The mobile number which is linked to your PayMaya account will receive a confirmation message when you’ve successfully loaded up your account. Once you’ve loaded up your account, it’s time to link your PayMaya to your Steam account and purchase the game that you’ve been eyeing for.

To link your PayMaya Virtual Card to your Steam account, click on your username just beside the controller icon on the upper right corner of the screen. A drop down menu will appear, choose the account details. Once you’ve clicked on it, you will be driven to a page with the details of your Steam account. On the Store and Purchase History, you’ll see the “Add funds to your Steam Wallet” and just below it is the “Add a payment method”. Choose the Add Payment Method, you will then be transported to the payment info page.

On the Payment Info page, choose Visa for the first drop-down menu, then type in the card number of your PayMaya Virtual Card on the card number line and the expiration date and security code on the next.

To know the information of your PayMaya Virtual Card, just open the App on your mobile phone and choose the view card option. There you will see your PayMaya’s Card number, Expiration Date and Security Code. Fill in all the other details on the Payment Info page and voila! You’re done with the linking process of your PayMaya and Steam account.

Now it’s time to enjoy the Winter Sale and specially the games that you’ll purchase. Happy shopping and game on fellow Noobs.
