Globe, one of the leading telecommunications company in the Philippines, has strengthen its partnership with the biggest shopping mall in the Philippines –SM– with the launch of their newest GCash feature – ‘Scan to Pay’.
The ‘Scan to Pay’ feature lets GCash owners pay for their purchases at any SM stores nationwide without the presence of their card or even cash with them. They only need to download or update their Gcash App, create an account and add funds to the wallet through 12,000+ cash-in outlets located all-over the country.

Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe, showed how easy it is to use ‘Scan to Pay’ when shopping at any SM outlets. The roll out of this new feature enables a more convenient shopping experience, especially when the Christmas rush comes in.
Aside from SM malls, the Gcash ‘Scan to Pay’ feature can also be used in Mercato Central in Bonifacio Global City, and Ayala Malls, particularly Glorietta. Other well-know merchants who have already embraced the new cashless payment option are Max’s Group of restaurants, apparel brand Bench, and international brand specialty retailer Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI).

Also, the GCash App lets users send money, pay bills, book movies, load up a mobile number or even borrow load via the app. And just like other digital wallet apps available in Apple App Store and Google Play Store, GCash App also comes with a virtual card number that can be used to shop online. This feature enables a plethora of uses in the online world.

GCash is readily available for download at Google Play and Apple App Store, just be sure that you’re using the latest version of Android or iOS.
